In 1960s Sweden, ambitious Karin defies expectations, chasing political journalism, love and friendship as she and fellow artists force their way into.

Karin battles sexism at a local paper sparking protests with artists as Miss Ystad is exploited, work conditions exposed and a radical summer ignites.

After her mother's death, Karin uncovers a secret father, exposes hotel exploitation and a sex club angers its owner, and faces an unwanted pregnancy.
