Midsomer Murders

Melissa is sunbathing when someone plunges a syringe into her stomach. Her body is discovered by Raif, Adam Keyne (Adrian Rawlins) a bankrupt proprietor of a dealership in classic cars, and his wife Liz (Sara Mair-Thomas). She has been killed by barbiturates.

One member of the club is the glamorous Ginny Sharp (Serena Gordon) who is having an affair with Selwyn. The hypochondriac Lord Chetwood (Anton Rodgers) also confesses to the doctor that he likes to spy on her sunbathing. In doing so he discovers Marjorie's stolen silver and he rushes to Barnaby.

Barnaby remembers seeing Bloxham cleaning Simon's car after they had found Susan's body. The hair found on it must have been planted there. Yet Bloxham's innocence in the murders is assured when he himself is attacked in his home. The assailant steals old photographs that Barnaby had seen pinned on the wall there, and sets fire to the house.

Church-bell ringers are dying off right before they are expected to compete in the National Striking Competition and Barnaby is called in to investigate the mysterious murders.

Barnaby and Troy investigate the elite secret society at Midsomer Parva's Devington School after a student suffers a fatal knife wound.
