Barnaby sends Troy, with the attractive PC Sarah Pearce, (Candida Benson) to Midsomer Magna to investigate a wildlife crime. Barnaby meanwhile follows up the discovery of the car and body of Julian Shepherd (Robert Morgan) in the river. At first sight it appears to be suicide.
