Johnny Gibbs, Lucas McCain's brother-in-law, visits the McCain ranch. Gibbs, a rodeo rider wanted by the law, begins stirring up trouble.

A vengeful judge who believes Lucas was responsible for his son's death, kidnaps Mark McCain to revenge himself on Lucas.

A handsome Italian count arrives in North Fork. The town bully ridicules his manner of speech and dress and provokes the Count to challenge him to a duel. Lucas, who has befriended the Count, is asked to serve as his second.

A new bank opens in North Fork and Banker Hamilton hires a brawny, slow-witted gunman to guard the safe. When some of the gunman's old outlaw friends arrive in town they propose he join them in robbing the bank. Lucas is called upon to prevent the robbery.

When Mark tries to play Cupid between Lucas and a pretty young stranger who arrives in North Fork, the girl's two older brothers accuse him of trifling with her affections and challenge him to fight them both.

Arch-criminal Tiffauges has been run out of New Orleans and is passing through North Fork with his entourage. Spotting the McCain ranch, he decides it would make a ranch for himself and tells McCain he wants to buy it. When Lucas says it's not for sale, Tiffaughes threatens harm to Mark unless he gets the ranch.

Young Dan Willard takes on Marshal Micah Torrence's job. With no experience, he takes a tough stand with a bunch of Texas cowhands whose high spirits are evident at the saloon. Dan's father is worried he will get himself killed but Dan is determined to show how tough he is.

Lucas and Mark are returning from a big cattle sale when the stage is robbed by three outlaws. Lucas, desperate to recover the money that was stolen, is determined to pursue the outlaws and takes off on foot through the rugged New Mexican mountains to recover his entire year's profits.

Lucas gets in trouble when he accuses the foreman of a neighboring ranch of rustling some of his cattle.

An Argentine family moves to North Fork and settles on a ranch adjoining Lucas'. The townspeople are unfriendly to the new settlers, making fun of their clothing and customs. The Argentinean adult immigrant is openly hostile in return, particularly toward a young North Fork boy who pays court to the settlers' daughter.

Lucas and Mark find themselves exposed to anthrax after they adopt a stray horse whose owner has been killed in a gunfight. The killer comes gunning for Lucas under the mistaken impression that the man he killed had imparted some vital information to Lucas. He is bitten by the stray horse and despite the odds of an awful death from anthrax, he does not forget his murderous intent.

After the end of the Civil War, General Phil Sheridan, who has been appointed Governor of the New Mexico Territory, is on an inspection tour of the country. General Sheridan and his staff arrive at Lucas' ranch and decide to stay overnight. Trouble occurs when the General is confronted by an ex-confederate soldier, his health broken and his spirit twisted by an idea of revenge on Sheridan.

When a famous gunfighter marries, he decides to retire. He and his wife settle down in North Fork and open a store. When three outlaws arrive in town, looking to best the gunman in a gunfight, he turns the other cheek. When he refuses to respond to their challenge, they wreck his store. Despite his wife's pleas, he puts on his gun belt and stands up against the outlaws.

An old friend of Lucas McCain's, a traveling photographer, comes to North Fork plying his trade. When a murder is committed, the photographer is accused of the crime. He is about to be convicted on circumstantial evidence, when Mark and his father concoct a clever ruse using photographs to unmask the real killer.

"Shivaree" - The wedding celebration for two young runaways is disrupted by a drunken crowd - Lucas wades in!

McCain arranges for Donnel O'Mahoney, a tough kid from Brooklyn, and arranges with two men for the young man to continue his travels with two men on their wagon. One of the men is murdered and the other accuses the boy of having done it.

U.S. Marshal Sam Buckhart arrives in North Fork in search of renegade Indians suspected of the brutal killing of a Texas Ranger and his family, but the townspeople are suspicious of him when they discover that he too is an Indian.

Reformed card sharp Julia Massini now runs a respectable boarding house in North Fork but Sid Fallon is threatening to reveal her sordid past unless she lets him turn the establishment into a saloon and gambling hall.

Lucas puts his life in jeopardy when he agrees to testify in a murder case where the first witness was killed before he could testify and the killer still at large.

Outlaw Sam Morley falls in love with a young woman who has a serious illness and asks Lucas to turn him in for the reward and use the money to pay for her medical care.
