When an experimental, fully automated high-speed train derails in rural Michigan, investigator Kendra Malley is called to the US to lead her team in finding the cause of the devastating crash.

Kendra learns Max protected Lucas during the crash. The FBI hunts him.

Kendra begins to trust her FBI counterpart, Ellen Hunter, and they start sharing inside information. Kendra gets a big break in the case thanks to Theo and Charlotte's quick thinking.

Max puts Kendra's life at risk. Lucas may return to Canada with an abusive stepparent. Charlotte and Theo aid the FBI investigation.

Kendra and Special Agent Hunter uncover further proof of a larger conspiracy surrounding the crash, and the pressure mounts to prevent any further damage to Cole's reputation. A violent confrontation leaves Kendra shaken.

As the case winds down, Kendra feels that she's still missing a piece of the puzzle. Lucas prepares to meet his grandfather when he realizes the truth about the crash.
