Karina Chimoto, who works at an ad agency, is assigned to a balletwear brand's launch event. With ideas from her best friend, Yumi, a professional ballet dancer, preparations go smoothly. On the big day, however, a dancer cannot make it, and Karina is suddenly asked to fill in because of her ballet background, only to suffer an unexpected onstage mishap that turns her life upside down. Karina flees the venue in a panic after a humiliating disaster at the balletwear event she was in charge of. Devastated and reckless, she behaves childishly even toward a crying child in the park. Karina takes out her frustration on her boyfriend, Kouki, who came to comfort her, and hurls cruel words at him. Shaken when Kouki suggests breaking up, Karina hits rock bottom when her best friend, Yumi, who should have been there to comfort her, inexplicably says she wants to cut ties. Desperate to know why Yumi cut ties with her, Karina visits Yumi's ballet company in an attempt to see her, only to be coldly turned away. She even tries to sneak into Yumi's apartment, but a delivery driver stops her. Seeing cheerful high school girls makes her recall her days with Yumi. Hungry and heartbroken, Karina wanders into Ramen Tameguchi by chance and finds someone unexpected. (C)NHK

Karina happens to stop by Ramen Tameguchi and finds Yumi working part-time there. The owner, Machiruda, may not make the best ramen, but he seems kind. Karina presses Yumi about why she wants to cut ties, yet the answer leaves her unsatisfied. Then Yumi even asks Karina to quit the ramen blog that Yumi inspired Karina to start, devastating her. Karina returns to the office after a long absence to cover for Kawazoe. There, she is told she will be transferred to General Affairs, crushing her confidence. She waits for Yumi outside the ballet company but is hauled away by security after being mistaken for a suspicious person. When a younger dancer, Nagisa, gets the soloist part over Yumi, Yumi can't be happy for her like Manato is. She thinks about texting Karina. Karina gets dressed up to see her ex, Kouki, but is puzzled by how he's changed. Meanwhile, Yumi is working at Ramen Tameguchi when she is harassed by customers, but Machiruda stands up for her.
