Gangster Vic Smith, born Vittorio Mario Sparducci, is deported to his native Italy after completing a prison sentence in the U.S. There, Vic sets out to regain wealth and influence while under the watch of authorities. His plans are complicated by a romance with the virtuous Countess Christine di Lorenzi, whose values challenge his criminal ambitions.
