After being injured by Stephanie Kersey, James Kirby escapes and the Mayor believes that Robert Kersey is responsible for these new murders. Stephanie meanwhile is adopted by the loving Tripp family. Kirby is nursed back to health by kind retired doctor and awakens one year later, but he's different now, he's evolved again and is determined to find the now eleven year old Stephanie.
