Acquitted

Despite being acquitted of the murder of his girlfriend, many people still think Aksel is guilty, forcing him to leave his hometown.

Aksel is persistent and refuses to back down without a fight. Eva is trying to keep PWG out of reach for Solar Tech stocks.

Aksel is forced to stay in Lifjord and has to look for a new CEO for Solar Tech when Eva decides to leave the company.

Aksel must juggle his relationship with Tonje when Angeline and his son arrive in Lifjord. He is forced to tell his wife about Karine, but deliberately doesn't tell her the whole truth.

Angeline no longer believes in Aksel's innocence, and for him to prove he is not guilty, he needs Tonje's help.

Angeline wants the family to leave Lifjord, but after receiving revealing photos of Karine, Aksel feels like he should stay. Degang starts making cuts at Solar Tech, which means Lars has to begin firing his friends.

Aksel is still looking for the person who took the nude photos of Karine. His suspicions towards Per Olav increase when Aksel finds out he is beating his girlfriend, Åse.

Aksel discovers more people have been lying to him about the night of the murder. He is deeply conflicted and determined to leave Lifjord, but for his son's sake, he decides to believe in his own innocence.

The police are searching for Aksel's bloody t-shirt from 20 years ago. Aksel still can't remember anything from the night Karine died, but confesses to the murder anyway.

As Aksel reconciles with his past and hometown, Angeline returns to Lifjord. Tonje and Aksel are still caught up in an affair, and Aksel realises that he's going to be forced to choose between his two lives.
