MATICES

A group of patients arrive at a therapeutic retreat led by Dr. Marlow; there they adopt identities of chess pieces, and the Doctor gives them the "wine of his life." The next day they wake up disoriented and discover the doctor murdered.

Inspector Castro investigates Dr. Marlow's murder; the patients believe they were drugged. The Lab confirms that all the patients' fingerprints are on the knife. Ceci - the Rook - points to Ana - the Pawn who claims to be innocent.

Garza opens the safe and Castro interrogates Ana. The recording of the last ceremony is missing from the safe. Ana tries to escape but Castro arrests her. A flashback shows that before arriving at Vrindavan Ana killed her husband Sebastian.

Castro interrogates the Polans who defend their relationship: Mrs Polan is Mr. Polan's daughter. She is devastated by their daughter Gina's suicide. Garza interrogates Fariba - the Bishop, a surgeon suspicious of killing her fiancé.

Castro and Garza discover that Norman, the Knight, tried to break into Marlow's office. They discover that Norman had suffered child abuse and suspected his sister Lily of murdering their father, but it was he who committed the murder.

Eviana admits drugging the patients without Marlow's knowledge. In a major twist, Castro turns out to be who stabbed Marlow in revenge for his mother's death and manipulated by Eviana, who wants to run the center without restrictions.
