Deep in the African Congo is one of Earth's most dangerous volcanoes, Nyiragongo. An international team of scientists spends a week camping next to its lava lake to find out when it will next erupt - before it devastates the nearby city of Goma.

The team heads to Nyamulagira, one of Nyiragongo's neighboring volcanoes, to find out how the region's volcanic forces affect every aspect of life. Arriving by UN helicopter, they must avoid ground fire from criminal gangs to get to the crater.
