Midsomer Murders

After the meeting, Fliss taunts Hilary about her illegitimacy, reducing her to tears. The next morning, Fliss is found dead in the garden, her head bashed in with a spade. Elspeth seeks sanctuary at the vicarage, asking vicar’s wife Susan Millard (Anna Calder-Marshall) for a bed for the night. Later that evening, Barnaby discovers Elspeth dead - she has been force-fed pasta containing hemlock.

Evelyn, increasingly worried about Gregory’s disappearance, tells her niece Clarice (Madeleine Worrall) that she will have to perform the puppet show that afternoon. A search party is organised in the woods where Gregory collected mushrooms. Suzanna arrives - Gregory has left her and has taken a bag of his clothes. A dog then appears with Gregory’s severed hand in its mouth.

Sir Harry and Lady Beatrice’s marriage was arranged by their parents - her family wanted her to have class, whilst Sir Harry needed Lady Beatrice’s money. Lloyd was sent away to Burma to keep him away from Lady Beatrice. Out there, Lloyd was sentenced to death for drug smuggling. The Consul General in Rangoon, Sir Christian Aubrey (Alec McCowen), managed to get Lloyd off.

At the reception after Julie’s wedding, Barnaby holds back the guests. Robin was killed by Frank and Bridget, his sister and the wronged woman, who paid him to get his garage out of debt. Mary Mohan realised this once the body was discovered and was silenced by Frank. Frank and Bridget are arrested, as is Stockard for perverting the course of justice by planting the watch in Megson’s kitchen.

Keith Shortlands (Adam Blackwood) leaves the village on a business trip. His wife Debbie (Fleur Bennett) works as a secretary for Simon Reason (Nicky Henson), who owns a shop specialising in antique office furniture. On her way to see Reason, Debbie is murdered in a similar way to Cutler. An antique knife is found beside the body.
