DonnaMarie Vaughan
Actor, Producer
DonnaMarie Vaughan is a screenwriter, playwright, director/producer, casting assistant, and actress who lives in the Buffalo NY area. As an actress, she has appeared in local, regional and national motion pictures, as well as commercials (TV and web) and industrial/training films. When not in front of a camera, she's likely behind it, having worked in numerous capacities, including production assistant, casting, locations, wardrobe, assistant directing, assistant producing, props/set work, and office administration. As a writer, DonnaMarie is both a produced, award-winning screenwriter and playwright. For film work, she is the writer/director of the feature films; "The Last Dance" (post-production as of Dec 24) and "Henry's Future" and the multi-award -winning short, "The Halloween Visitor", and the short "Take (Me) Out" (post-production as of Dec 24). She also wrote/co-directed the shorts "Mary's Christmas" and "Homecoming". Several of her other short films have been produced by others, including an adaptation of her award-winning play, "Stuck" which starred Steve Briscoe, and won the 1995 National Comedy Compact Award. For the stage, DonnaMarie has had numerous productions of her plays, many which have also been published. Awards include the 1988 Area Playwrights Performance Series Award for the full-length drama "Second Tuesdays", and the 1995 Comedy Compact Award for "Stuck". Special note goes to her full length drama "In Sickness and In Health" (Emmett's Promise" as a screenplay) which, when produced in 1993 shed an early light on the devastating effects Alzheimer's Disease had on a family. In 1995, Shelly Fabres, then president of the National Alzheimer's Association, praised DonnaMarie for the reality of the play after a staged reading in North Carolina. DonnaMarie is working on several projects, including several features and two stage plays.
