Ed Primeau
Actor
Mini Bio (1) Ed is the founder and co-owner of Primeau Forensics, located in Rochester Hills, MI. Its mission is to Identify - Clarify - Testify. Ed was born in 1958 in Detroit, MI to Ann and Edmund Primeau. He relished growing up in the thriving Detroit Rock City music scene, which he learned about at a young age from his three significantly older siblings. Attracted to the music industry and with dreams of becoming a DJ, Ed attended the University of Detroit where he majored in Communications and minored in Criminal Justice. He began his career as an audio engineer in 1980 at Ambience Recording Studio, also in the Detroit area. At Ambience, Ed worked with a plethora of music legends, including Bob Seger, Anita Baker, Def Leppard, Ted Nugent, and Barry Manilow. While employed at Ambience, Ed was asked to conduct an audio forensic examination for the Detroit FBI. That was to be Ed's first, but far from last, forensics case. In 1984, Ed left Ambience to focus on growing his own company, Primeau Productions. He offered a variety of audio and video production, full-scale production, the direction of live conferences, and forensics services. Since that first case, Ed has completed hundreds of successful audio and video forensic investigations. He has testified in federal, state, and local courts as an expert witness. As Ed's forensics expertise grew, he became sought after by the media, which in turn led to opportunities to be on camera in both television and movies. Ed has consulted with the media on several notable cases, some of the biggest including Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, United Airlines Flight 93, and the JonBenet Ramsey case. Ed, along with JFK assassination researcher Bill Kelly, Ed assembled and restored the Air Force One recordings (discovered in 2011) from the day that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Ed's son, Michael Primeau, joined him in the family business, is now co-owner of Primeau Forensics, and has made a name for himself as an actor. Michael is the Forensic Video Analyst for The History Channel's The Proof is Out There (2021). Ed is himself now contracted to appear on The History Channel's The Proof is Out There (TBD) as their Forensic Audio Analyst.
